കംഗാരു, ഫോണിന്റെ വലിപ്പം മാത്രമുളള ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര്‍; വില വെറും 6500 രൂപ

(www.kvartha.com 27.10.2015) ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര്‍ പുറത്തിറക്കി. അമേരിക്കന്‍ ഇലക്ടോണിക് കമ്പനിയാണ് കംഗാരു എന്ന ചെറിയ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര്‍ വികസിപ്പിച്ചെടുത്തത്. ഒരു എക്‌സ്റ്റേണല്‍ ഹാര്‍ഡ് ഡിസ്‌ക്കിന്റെ വലിപ്പം മാത്രമുളള കംഗാരുവിന്റെ ഏകദേശ വില 6500 രൂപയാണ്. വിന്‍ഡോസ് 10 പ്ലാറ്റ്‌ഫോമിലാണ് കംഗാരു പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുക. 124 മില്ലി മീറ്ററാണ് കംഗാരുവിന്റെ നീളം. വീതി 80.5 മീറ്റര്‍. 12.9 മില്ലി മീറ്റര്‍ ഘനവുമുള്ള കംഗാരുവിന് 200 മില്ലി ഗ്രാം മാത്രമേ ഭാരമൊള്ളൂ.

പാസ്‌വേഡിനു പകരം ഫിംഗര്‍ പ്രിന്റ് സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യയാണ് കംഗാരുവിലുള്ളത്. ഇന്റല്‍ ചെറിട്രൈല്‍ എസ്ഒസി, 2 ജിബി റാം, 32 ജിബി സ്റ്റോറേജ് കപ്പാസിറ്റി, എന്നീ സവിശേഷതകള്‍ക്കൊപ്പം കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറിന്റെ സ്റ്റോറേജ് കപ്പാസിറ്റി മൈക്രോ എസ്ഡി മെമ്മറി കാര്‍ഡ് ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ഉയര്‍ത്താനുമാകും. ഇപ്പോള്‍ വടക്കന്‍ അമേരിക്കയില്‍ മാത്രം പുറത്തിറക്കിയിരിക്കുന്ന കംഗാരു നവംബര്‍ പകുതിയോടെ മൈക്രോസോഫ്റ്റ് സ്റ്റോറില്‍ എത്തുമെന്നാണ് പ്രതീക്ഷ. 

SUMMARY: As convenient as a PC-on-a-stick may be, it's typically saddled with some major limits: you rarely have more than one port, and you always have to plug into a power source. InFocus (yes, the projector company) thinks it has a better idea, though. Its newKangaroo PC gives you a battery-powered Windows 10 desktop that's about as small as a smartphone -- you can pull it out of your pocket, connect peripherals and start working for up to four hours. You can even connect to an iPad if you're bent on a completely portable setup. Also, InFocus takes a clever approach to expansion: there's an included dock with HDMI and two USB ports, and there are promises of more add-ons in the future.
