ചെന്നൈ: സ്മാര്ട്ട് ഫോണുകളുടെയും ഇമെയിലുകളുടെയും എസ്.എം.എസുകളുടെയുമെല്ലാം വരവോടെ വിസ്മൃതിയിലായ ടെലിഗ്രാം സര്വീസുകള് ബി.എസ്.എന്.എല്. അവസാനിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. സാങ്കേതികതയുടെ കടന്നുവരവിന് മുമ്പ് ജനങ്ങള് സന്തോഷവും സങ്കടവുമെല്ലാം പങ്കിടാന് ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്ന ടെലിഗ്രാം അടുത്ത ജൂലൈ 15ഓടെ അവസാനിപ്പിക്കുകയാണെന്ന് കാട്ടി ന്യൂഡല്ഹിയിലെ ബി.എസ്.എന്.എല്. കോര്പറേറ്റ് ഓഫീസില് നിന്ന് രാജ്യത്തെ തപാല്ഓഫീസുകള്ക്ക് നിര്ദേശം നല്കി.
160 വര്ഷത്തെ സ്ത്യുതര്ഹ സേവനത്തിന് ശേഷമാണ് ടെലിഗ്രാം സേവനം ബി.എസ്.എന്.എല് സേവന പട്ടികയില് നിന്ന് വിരമിക്കാന് ഒരുങ്ങുന്നത്.
സാങ്കേതികതയുടെ ആരംഭകാലം മുതല്ക്കേ ഏതാണ്ടെല്ലാ പോസ്റ്റ് ഓഫീസുകളിലും ടെലിഗ്രാം യന്ത്രങ്ങള് പുറമ്പോക്കിലേക്ക് തള്ളപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. ജൂലൈ 15 മുതല് ടെലിഗ്രാം ബുക്കിംഗ് സൗകര്യം നിര്ത്തലാക്കണമെന്ന് കാട്ടിയാണ് നിര്ദേശം. അധിക ജീവനക്കാരെ മൊബൈല്, ലാന്ഡ്ലൈന്, ബ്രോഡ്ബാന്റ് സേവന രംഗങ്ങളിലേക്ക് മൂന്നുമാസത്തിനുള്ളില് പുനര് വിന്യസിക്കാനാണ് പദ്ധതി. വരുമാനത്തിലെ ഇടിവിനെ തുടര്ന്ന് 60 വര്ഷത്തിന് ശേഷം 2011ല് സര്ക്കാര് ടെലിഗ്രാം സേവന നിരക്കുകള് വര്ധിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.
