വാഷിങ്ടണ്‍: എച്ച്.ഐ.വി. പ്രതിരോധ രംഗത്ത് വന്‍ മുന്നേറ്റത്തിന്റെ കഥയുമായി അമേരിക്കന്‍ ഗവേഷകര്‍. എച്ച്.ഐ.വി. ബാധയോടെ ജനിച്ച പെണ്‍കുഞ്ഞിനെ ചികില്‍സിച്ച് ഭേദമാക്കിയതായി അറ്റ്‌ലാന്റയില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന ശാസ്ത്ര സമ്മേളനത്തിലാണ് ഗവേഷകര്‍ അറിയിച്ചത്.
മിസിസിപ്പിയിലെ ഗ്രാമത്തില്‍ ജനിച്ച കുഞ്ഞിന് ജനിച്ച് 30 ദിവസത്തിനുള്ളില്‍ തന്നെ ആന്റി റിട്രോറൈ്വല്‍ മരുന്നുകള്‍ നല്‍കി തുടങ്ങിയതായി ഗവേഷകര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. ഇപ്പോള്‍ രണ്ടര വയസുള്ള കുഞ്ഞിന് കഴിഞ്ഞ ഒരു വര്‍ഷമായി അസുഖത്തിന്റെ യാതൊരു ലക്ഷണങ്ങളുമില്ല.
2011ല്‍ മാത്രം ലോകത്ത് 3.3 ലക്ഷം കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്‍ എച്ച്.ഐ.വി. ബാധയോടെ ജനിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നാണ് ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്ര സഭയുടെ കണക്കുകള്‍. ലോകത്ത് വൈറസ് ബാധയുള്ള 30 ലക്ഷം കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടെന്നാണ് കണക്കുകള്‍ പറയുന്നത്. പിറന്നയുടനെയുള്ള ചികില്‍സ ഫലിക്കുമെന്ന് വന്നാല്‍ അത് എച്ച്.ഐ.വിക്കെതിരായ മുന്നേറ്റത്തില്‍ ഒരു നാഴികക്കല്ലായി തീരും.
