BJP trying to communalise Rushdie row: Govt

CHANDIGARH: Government on Wednesday accused BJP of giving a communal touch to the controversy over author Salman Rushdie not being able to attend or address the Jaipur Literature Festival.

"BJP is highly politicisng this (Rushdie) issue and trying to give it a communal touch," Finance Minister Pranab Mukherhee said here.
