ഇംഫാല്‍: (www.kvartha.com 10.08.2020) ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ഫുട്‌ബോള്‍ താരവും മോഹന്‍ ബഗാന്‍ ക്യാപ്റ്റനുമായ മണിതോംബി സിങ് അന്തരിച്ചു. 39 വയസായിരുന്നു. വിവിധ അസുഖങ്ങളെത്തുടര്‍ന്ന് ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ ചികിത്സയിലിരിക്കെയാണ് മരണം. ഭാര്യയും ഒരു മകനുമുണ്ട്.
2002 ഏഷ്യന്‍ ഗെയിംസില്‍ ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്കായി കളിച്ചു. 2003ല്‍ എല്‍ജി കപ്പ് ജേതാക്കളായ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ അണ്ടര്‍ 23 ടീമില്‍ അംഗമായിരുന്നു. ഡിഫന്‍ഡറായ മണിതോംബി 2003ല്‍ ബഗാനിലെത്തി. 2004ല്‍ ഓള്‍ എയര്‍ലൈന്‍സ് ഗോള്‍ഡ് കപ്പില്‍ ജേതാക്കളായപ്പോള്‍ ക്യാപ്റ്റനായിരുന്നു. മണിപ്പൂര്‍ ക്ലബ് അനോബ മംഗള്‍ താരമായിരിക്കെ വിരമിച്ചു. പിന്നീട് അതേ ക്ലബ്ബിന്റെ പരിശീലകനുമായി.
