കറാച്ചിയില്‍ പോലീസ് വേട്ട: 97 പേര്‍ പിടിയില്‍

ഇസ്ലാമാബാദ്: കറാച്ചിയില്‍ വിവിധയിടങ്ങളില്‍ പോലീസ് നടത്തിയ റെയ്ഡില്‍ 97 ക്രിമിനലുകള്‍ അറസ്റ്റിലായി. കൊലപാതകം, തട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകല്‍, കവര്‍ച്ച, തീവ്രവാദം എന്നീ കേസുകളിലെ പ്രതികളാണ് അറസ്റ്റിലായത്. 73 റെയ്ഡുകളിലായാണ് ഇത്രയും പേരെ പിടികൂടിയത്.

അതേസമയം ചിലയിടങ്ങളിലുണ്ടായ റെയ്ഡില്‍ അക്രമികള്‍ പോലീസിനുനേര്‍ക്ക് വെടിയുതിര്‍ത്തതായി റിപോര്‍ട്ടുണ്ട്. എന്നാല്‍ വെടിവെപ്പില്‍ ആര്‍ക്കും പരിക്കേറ്റിട്ടില്ല. അറസ്റ്റിലായവരില്‍ നിന്നും 26 തോക്കുകള്‍ പിടികൂടി.

സെപ്റ്റംബര്‍ ആറിന് നടത്തിയ റെയ്ഡില്‍ മൂവായിരത്തോളം പേരാണ് അറസ്റ്റിലായത്. കറാച്ചിയില്‍ തുടര്‍ച്ചയായുണ്ടാകുന്ന കലാപത്തിന്റെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തില്‍ പോലീസ് റെയ്ഡുകള്‍ വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കാനാണ് തീരുമാനം.
