വൈപ്പിന്‍: ചത്ത കൂറ്റന്‍ തിമിംഗലം കടല്‍ത്തീരത്തടിഞ്ഞു. എടവനക്കാട് പഴങ്ങാട് കടപ്പുറത്ത് വ്യാഴാഴ്ചയാണ് തിമിംഗലം അടിഞ്ഞത്. കാറ്റിനു രൂക്ഷഗന്ധം അനുഭവപ്പെട്ടതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് നാട്ടുകാര്‍ നടത്തിയ അന്വേഷണത്തിലാണ് കടല്‍ഭിത്തിക്കു പടിഞ്ഞാറു ഭാഗത്തായി തിമിംഗലം ചത്തുമലര്‍ന്നു കിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടത്.
മുപ്പതടിയോളം നീളവും ഇതിനൊത്ത നല്ലവണ്ണവുമുള്ള തിമിംഗലം ചത്തിട്ട് ഒരാഴ്ചയെങ്കിലും ആയിക്കാണുമെന്നാണ് നിമഗനം. വലിയ വായയാണ്. കറുത്ത നിറത്തിലുളള ശരീരം അഴുകിയനിലയിലാണ്. തൊലി പലയിടത്തും അടര്‍ന്നുമാറിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. സാധാരണ പുറം കടലില്‍ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ഇത്തരം തിമിംഗലം കപ്പലിന്റെ പ്രോപ്പല്ലറില്‍ തട്ടിയായിരിക്കാം അപകടത്തില്‍പ്പെട്ടതെന്ന് കരുതപ്പടുന്നു. വിവരം അറിഞ്ഞതോടെ തിമിംഗലത്തെ കാണാന്‍ നിരവധിയാളുകള്‍ സ്ഥലത്തെത്തി.
സിഎംഎഫ്ആര്‍ഐ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്‍മാര്‍ സ്ഥലത്തെത്തി പരിശോധിച്ച് ചിറകും മാംസവും സാമ്പിള്‍ പരിശോധനക്കായി എടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. ദുര്‍ഗന്ധം രൂക്ഷമായതിനെതുടര്‍ന്ന് നാട്ടുകാര്‍ എസ്.ശര്‍മ്മ എംഎല്‍എയെ വിവരം അറിയിച്ചു. എംഎല്‍എ ഇടപെട്ടതിനെതുടര്‍ന്ന് എറണാകുളത്തുനിന്നു ക്രെയിനും മറ്റുസാമഗ്രികളുമായി ഫയര്‍ഫോഴ്‌സെത്തി.എന്നാല്‍ കനത്ത മഴയും ഇരുട്ടും മൂലം തിമിംഗലത്തെ ഇന്നലെ മാറ്റാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.
